Curriculum

Opaheke School follows the New Zealand curriculum. There are seven "Essential Learning Areas". In addition to these, there are eight "Essential Skills" incorporated in to all that happens in the classroom.

It is a requirement for all New Zealand schools to follow the National Curriculum Framework. At present the New Zealand Curriculum is undergoing considerable change. The new draft curriculum has been recently released, and the final updated curriculum is due to be completed and sent to schools late in 2007.
