Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an important part of our every day lives today and it will continue to become increasingly important in our children's lives in the future.
Our aim at Opaheke School is:
We encourage our students to use ICT to learn in new and interesting ways, often through ways not possible with other resources. As teachers we endeavour to integrate information and communication technologies into classroom programmes in meaningful ways, using these tools to support learning in other curriculum areas.
ICT Facilities
Our school is fully networked. The ICT suite (31 computers) is a key resource in our school. Each classroom has at least one computer and a number of laser printers are easily accessed throughout the school. We have research computers available in the library and our library system is fully computerised. We have a number of data show projectors for classroom use as well as digital cameras and digital video cameras. We have mobile computer trolleys (COWS) that can be moved from room to room to allow extra access for classes requiring further computers for research work.
