Ōpaheke School students have the privilege of wearing mufti to school. Students are asked to exercise good judgement and our dress code is in place to maintain the safety and modesty of all. More information about our dress code can be found here.
During Terms 2 and 3 the fields become very wet and muddy. We therefore require students to change out of their long pants/tights into shorts to enable them to play on the fields.

Lost Clothing:
During the year lost clothing builds up. All clothing, including footwear, should be clearly named to avoid confusion in ownership or loss. Lost property can be claimed from outside R10 after 2.30 pm or before school. At the end of each term lost property is also displayed outside R18 for claiming prior to being donated to charity.
PE Uniform:
For P.E. and sporting events, the children in the senior school are required to wear an Ōpaheke School sports t-shirt and shorts which can be purchased at the office. Pricing can be found in our Ōpaheke School Stationery and Uniform Requirements. We also have a small selection of school PE shirts/ shorts for the loan. We recommend that our students (Y5- Y8) purchase their own uniform as we cannot guarantee sizes, etc. If you need to use a school-owned shirt, we ask that these are washed and returned promptly after use.
Sun Hats and Swimwear:
There is a compulsory school sunhat, which must be worn during Terms One and Four of each year. This is to help protect from the sun’s UV rays. For the same reason, we recommend rash shirts as part of the swimwear in Terms 1 and 4 as our pool is not shaded.
Valuables / Jewellery:
Jewellery can be a hazard and for safety reasons is not permitted with the exception of small stud earrings. Occasionally jewellery for religious or cultural reasons is allowed but requires permission from the Principal.
