School Bus / Traffic: A school bus comes from the Ponga Road area arriving at School at 8.10 am. It departs in the afternoon at 2.30 pm. Please let the office know if your child will not be catching the bus home
Road Patrol: Year 6&7 pupils act as Road Patrol Monitors on the pedestrian crossing in Opaheke Road and on Tasman Drive. A parent roster system assists with supervision. If you are able to assist with a rostered day once a month please contact the office on 09-2985410 or office@opaheke.school.nz
Parking: Your co-operation is requested with regard to not parking in the following areas:
- On the school bus stop – Tasman Drive
- Between orange safety cones outside school gates
- The school parking area and driveway.
Bicycles at School: Year 7 and 8 students can bring their bicycles to school. Bikes are not to be ridden on the school grounds, students will need to hop off their bike at the school gates and walk them to the bike rack. We recommend students bring a lock to secure their bicycle. Parents are responsible for ensuring their children are aware of road safety and hazards as they cycle to school.
Parents teaching their children about correct / sensible traffic safety rules is appreciated.
