Pause and Connect

Schools can be busy places with a lot of activity and noise. For some children, the stimulating environment of a school can be a stressful place, especially at break-times. Our Pause and Connect Programme is an effective way to provide a safe and calming place for learners who find the playground overwhelming.

Pause and connect allows students to slow down their minds and bodies and connect to themselves and others in the group. It provides a safe space for students with special needs, such as autism. Activities on offer provide a variety of physical and cognitive skills. Students learn to self-regulate emotions and feelings in a controlled and supportive environment.

Our activities include allow students to build and apply various skills, including:

  • fine and gross motor skills
  • hand-eye coordination
  • sensory skills
  • social skills
  • communication skills

‍Equipped with resources such as beanbags, mirrors, mats, cushions, lights and toys, the Pause and Connect Programme offers an opportunity for each student to thrive.
