PMP is a perceptual motor programme in which oral language is the key factor in providing the perceptual knowledge about motor experiences. It works to develop children's language and motor skills that provide the foundations neccasary for succes in their early years. It aims to develop the whole child not just the skill.
Movement is a language that children know and PMP gives them experiences by seeing, touching, hearing, making perceptual judgements and reacting through carefully sequenced physical activities and verbalisation of actions.
We are very lucky that we can dedicate a room to this which means the equipment can remain set up and that we have a Learning assistant who is trained to facilitate the programme ensuring we get maximum benefit for everyone.
