Principal

thumbnail_Capture 5It is my privilege to introduce myself to you as the Acting Principal of Ōpaheke School. The school is highly regarded throughout Auckland as a high achieving school with dedicated and capable teachers and a community which cares about their children’s education and wellbeing. More than 30% of students come from outside the Ōpaheke area. Since being granted full primary school status in 1999 students can now complete their entire primary schooling, from Year 1 to 8, at Ōpaheke School.

We strive to be an inclusive community and warmly welcome parents and members of our community to share the ‘learning journey’ with teachers and students. The sense of family and community is of paramount importance to us.

It is essential that we all work together to ensure that the children in the school community grow in their learning to be active participants and conscientious contributors to their world.

Our staff are learners too! We work together to challenge our thinking and to improve our practice in order to ensure quality and improved student outcomes for every child.

Striving for Excellence, Achieving Personal Best and Respect for Self and Others are core values that are intertwined into the learning practices here at Ōpaheke School. We value what each member of our community (staff, students and families) can contribute to our school and we value the importance of working together so our Ōpaheke School learning environment can continue to grow and evolve as a dynamic learning establishment.

Pupils sharing, caring, learning and achieving.

I look forward to meeting you in this very special place.
