Curriculum

OPAHEKE SCHOOL FOLLOWS THE NEW ZEALAND CURRICULUM.

The New Zealand Curriculum specifies eight learning areas: English, the arts, health and physical education, learning languages, mathematics and statistics, science, social sciences, and technology.

Underpinning the curriculum is the belief that our students become confident, connected, actively involved life-long learners. Our school curriculum is developed with this in mind.

Within our curriculum, we recognise the importance of the principles from the New Zealand Curriculum and demonstrate these through the planning and implementation of learning opportunities. The students are at the heart of what we do and we strive to build and maintain a sense of student agency, making the learning visible to all those involved.
